Indian made MG cars by China

Chinese car manufacturer to sell Indian made MG cars in India. China's leading automaker S A I C (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), the iconic British brand of MG (Morris Garages) inaugurated the first venture in India. The company is heading towards the centre of the central government's Make in India project. By the end of this year, General Motors India's Halol hub will be taken by China. The centre is spread over 170 acres of land. The company MG is currently providing around 8 different car models under MG brand in various markets across the globe including UK, USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Middle East, South East Asia, Thailand and Indonesia.

China's MG5, MG3 and GS will be available in the first phase. MG3 will the be one of the first vehicles to be manufactured in India under the Make in India project. The hatchback segment will compete against the Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jaz. The MG3 price is at € 8,695 (about Rs 6.5 lakh). It is expected that price of the car that is being manufactured in India will be smaller than that. The car has a 5-speed automatic transmission system and 106Bhp powered and the exterior has maintained with a nice look and feel. Only a petrol engine option was available in Britain, but in India, they will provide both petrol and diesel engine.
